Susan A Rivers MA, LPC, NCC, CAS, BCPC, BCGC

Mrs. Rivers has Degrees in Psychology with an emphasis on counseling. She is a South Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. Also, Mrs Rivers is a Certified Addiction Specialist, Board Certified Psychotherapist, and a Board Certified Grief Counselor.

Mrs. Rivers has over 18 years of direct counseling experience in a variety of settings. She has a broad base of experience with all age groups and is experienced and skilled in working with all DSM- IV-TR disorders.

For many years she has owned and operated a private counseling practice where she provides counseling to individuals, families, couples, grief counseling, groups, addiction counseling, as well as providing crisis and medication management, and education and prevention programs.
 
Mrs. Rivers has a broad base of experience in the areas of: individual counseling, family counseling, marital counseling, child and adolescent counseling, grief counseling, group counseling, addictions counseling, crisis management, medication management, psycho-education, behavior modification, intensive in-home services, research, program development, coordination of care, case management, supervision, marketing, advertising, and management.

Mrs. Rivers has been married for 25 years, has two grown daughters, and six wonderful grandchildren.

Mrs. Rivers embraces an eclectic approach to counseling. In other words, her style is a combination of many techniques; some of which include cognitive therapy, rational behavior therapy, Gestalt techniques, free association, rational emotive therapy, short-term psychodynamic therapy, mind-body, and others.

Mrs. Rivers is a caring Counselor who works with her Patients in the quest for health and happiness on their pathway of life.
